Sesame Oil Lowers Blood Pressure

The example you gave is very interesting. There is a split in India
with alopathic medicine, and the 'traditional' medicine of
ayurvedic, which includes herbalism and surgery. The two systems do
work together; and sometimes by accident, as the example given seems
to show.

Sesame oil is used in ayurvedic medicine for many things, for
example to reduce 'high vata'. The symtoms of high vata are mostly
health problems related to high stress levels which include
hypertension. By bringing down the high stress levels it would then
make the treatment of the hypertension more effective - whatever
that treatment was.

I have been using sesame oil for many years for this treatment. And
its also very beneficial if used as a massage oil blended with
essential oils.

Another oil, or rather fat, is that of coconut oil. Unlike our
western 'view' that fat is not healthy, in ayurvedic treatment fats
are used in a medicinal context, for example heart problems and
hypertension. Ghee - clarified butter, is an excellent 'remedy' for
the above problems. Coconut fat is very good for reducing very high
stress levels as well. Again I have used this on myself and on
patients for years with very good 'results'.

Michael

Here is a commentary on the recent (Jan, 25th, 2011) Public Participation Meeting (PPM) on Fluoride in the City of London, Ontario. The meeting started with a strong pro fluoride stance form the City engineer. His lack of knowledge on chemistry of the toxic wastes used to fluoridate water could embarrass even a high school student never mind his own profession. He blatantly violated his "duty to public welfare" as... [read more]

Chris,
Is there any information on your website regarding ionized (alkaline) water? And is there any way to search your site by topic? That would certainly be handy.

Thanks,

Dick

No have not put anything on alkaline water yet but may in due course.

There is google search at the top middle of home page to search the site.

Just one oil can make the difference

Lots of things in health are really obvious, but this study used the family kitchen as an uncontrolled lab experiment and found that degraded oils in frying were responsible for high blood pressure. Reused sunflower oil was the culprit, which has a low monounsaturated fatty acid profile. Along that same line, sesame oil (use around 2 1/2 tablespoons a day) can significantly LOWER blood pressure, especially in people on hypertensive medication. I tried it myself and wound up with a more consistent lower BP on medication.
