Another great use of Hydrogen Peroxide
Putting the bite on heart disease
There's fresh evidence that tooth decay is linked to serious heart disease. Doctors have found a connection between infection of the gums and disease of the main arteries in the neck - the carotid arteries. That's not the heart, but close enough: scientists reported that infections in those arteries increased the risk of heart disease and stroke. This conclusion came from a study of 52 apparently healthy people.
Researcher Dr. Mitchell Elkind, of Columbia University, New York, said: "This means that periodontal disease may not just present a problem with oral hygiene and pose a risk for loss of teeth, but it may in fact present a problem with cardiovascular health and loss of neurological function or loss of life as well."
Sounds to me like dental hygiene is something we should all catch up on - before it catches up to us.
Action to take:
Forget the toothbrush and paste; use dental floss, toothpicks, and a mechanical water irrigator, such as Waterpic or Hydrofloss, to thoroughly clean your teeth and gums. Mix 1/2 an ounce of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (the kind you get at the grocery store) with the water you put in the machine. It will probably taste a little funny to you the first few times, but don't rinse your mouth out with water afterwards. Rinsing negates the effects of the peroxide.
Over easy,

September 13, 2011The Future of Complementary/Integrative Medicine & Patient Choice
While this may appear like a Canadian issue only - it is not. There is a world wide push to force pharmaceutical and surgical based standard of care model via Draconian directives on all doctors. Any deviation will be subject to severe penalties. I am forwarding the following for your comment and action.
Please note the Sept. 16th, 2011 deadline.
Thanks,
Chris Gupta

---------------------"Here is the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) revision to the Complementary Medicine policy. Several background documents are provided. There has seen a lot of activity on the issue from the doctors in the province who wish to continue to offer complementary and integrative medicine without constant fear of unreasonable CPSO requirements. I am forwarding you this comprehensive letter from our Section chair in case you want to publicize a request for more feedback to the CPSO before their extended deadline of Sept 16, 2011.
Several background documents are provided in a zip file at the end of this post.
Individuals can make a comment, or fill out their survey.
On the right hand box there are links to look at the submissions from individuals and organizations.
However, they haven't posted the submission from the Ontario Society of Physicians for Complementary Medicine and the Ontario Medical Association Section on Complementary and Integrative Medicine, or the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada or Helke Ferrie's article. These are attached here.

Subject: The Future of Complementary/Integrative Medicine and patient choice in Canada!I want to begin by thanking you for opening this message. I encourage you to review the material in the attachments below.
This message is being sent to you from my current contacts list from both my personal and professional life.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario has been in the process of revising the Policy on Complementary Medicine in Ontario. Below you will see responses just submitted on behalf of the Ontario Society of Physicians for Complementary Medicine and the Ontario Medical Association Section on Complementary and Integrative Medicine, the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, the Coalition for the Advancement of Integrative Medicine, the Lyme Action Group (Ontario) and a letter from an individual (Helke Ferrie) that outlines in detail the concerns regarding the new Draft Policy.
Attached as well are the current policy on Complementary Medicine, the Draft Policy on Complementary Medicine and a "Backgrounder" by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
I believe this issue is truly a national matter with international ramifications. What is about to happen in Ontario will be used as a standard by which other medical licensing bodies in Canada and the United States will begin to curtail/control the practice of medicine.
In Ontario, it will mean the end of MD's practicing anything other than pharmaceutical medicine and surgery. Physicians and medical students in Ontario who have the ability, will move to another location if they want to practice anything other than the convention or, they will quit practicing integrative medicine altogether. This is leading edge medicine that incorporates many modalities that improve patient outcome and reduce reliance on medications and surgery. This approach not only controls symptoms but also has been shown to resolve the problem.
This is a very serious matter for all of us no matter what your role in the health care field.
Patients need to be able to make informed choices about decisions that will have a significant impact on their lives. Much of health cares upward spiralling health care costs are related to care provided to patients based on the preferences of providers (the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario want to dictate what that will be). When patients are provided with impartial, balanced information regarding health care choices, research has found that they tend to choose less invasive less costly treatments than they might otherwise have selected (Dartmouth Medical School). Informed choice is also closely aligned with the concept of patient autonomy, the concept of informed consent and the value of self-determination that sits at the centre of Canadian and American constitutional liberalism.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario seek to take these choices and privileges away from the public. This will be the thin wedge than directs regulators everywhere to act in a similar fashion.
Please feel free to act on this information in whatever way seems best to you, including distribution to anyone else you think might be interested. You may use this email address if you would like to respond, would like more information or if you would like to get involved in any way.
Governments can no longer ignore the will of the public to have a choice in their health care. They must recognize this and control licensing bodies that are supposed to act in the best interest and protection of the public it is supposed to serve. You should be outraged when you read the attachments below. I hope you are.
Sincerely,
Rob Banner

May 18, 2007Improving Lung Function (COPD) - Oxygenation Benefits
Here are some very simple ways to improve lung function. There are many benefits to Oxygenating the body all the way from disease prevention to more energy. Not to mention a calmer disposition a hallmark of meditation. In particular, improving lung function for those with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Asthma, Emphysema it can be a matter of life and death
Insufficient Oxygen means insufficient biological energy that can result in anything from mild fatigue to life threatening disease. Dr Otto Warburg, twice Nobel Laureate, was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 for discovering the cause of cancer. He said: "Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes, but there is only one prime cause. Summary: the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the normal oxygen respiration of the body cells by an anaerobic (i.e. lacking in Oxygen) cell respiration." In other words, the growth of cancer cells is initiated by a relative lack of Oxygen. Further lack of Oxygen can force the heart to compensate a most dangerous situation for an ailing heart....
Most of us tend to emphasize the inhalation phase of breathing and tend to neglect the exhalation phase. This deprives the lungs of their full potential to effectively exchange oxygen with carbon dioxide. Breathing exercises enforce good habits where the full range of lung function is used. Consequently, the body gets the oxygen it needs, this not only feels better, but provides more energy. In fact Yoga and other meditation methods often use techniques to enhance breathing. Hence exhaling deeply forces us to breath deeper thus increasing oxygen uptake exactly what we need!
A device similar to Spirometer discussed in "Breathing Training" below but far superior is the PowerLung. This as discussed above not only exercises inhalation muscles but also the exhalation ones thus, enhancing deeper breathing. A brief history of the device is here.

Note: Many articles regarding COPD on the web recommend vaccinations to prevent complications from lung infections. Contrary to the popular belief the flu vaccine can actually weaken the immune system and make you more predisposed to the illness.
The flu vaccine, whether in the shot or nasal form, is worthless at best and should be avoided. Not only are they loaded with toxic chemicals including mercury and aluminum, but many people come down with the flu shortly after receiving the shot. This is because it actually weakens the immune system, making the person more predisposed to the illness.
Launching a immune response among immune compromised will have the opposite effect particular in the an venerable groups such as the elderly and/or those who are nutritionally compromised

Breathing Exercises
Pursed-Lip Breathing. A technique called pursed-lip breathing can help improve lung function before starting activities. It takes about 10 minutes. When first learning the technique, the patient should lie flat on a bed with his or her head on a pillow. Later, the technique can be performed while walking or enduring any activity requiring extra air.

April 24, 2006Pain Management and Ozone Treatment
"All nine patients reported an improvement after the first four or five weekly infusions and there was a complete or partial elimination of the use of pain drugs."
No matter how effective the treatment... There is the usual disclaimer at the bottom! Heaven forbid if we should use a safe cost effective treatment instead of the generally toxic drugs - even if they kill! See:
Double Blind Randomized Trials?
Chris Gupta
--------------Prof Zimran described a trial with ozone therapy that he conducted with patients who still suffered from pain.
A trial of nine patients, three men and six women, took place at a private clinic in Israel as this treatment is considered alternative or compli-mentary. Their average age was 47 years. All were being treated with Cerezyme and pain medication. Altogether they received 134 ozone treatments.
The treatment requires a generator mixing oxygen and ozone. Blood was drawn from the patient into a vacuum bottle to which the ozone-oxygen mixture is bubbled and then immediately re-transfused to the patient. This treatment, known as auto-hemotherapy, was administered weekly over a 12 week period.
The patients were asked to fill in a pain questionnaire detailing average pain felt over the last 24 hours, ability to walk, conduct daily work, quality of sleep, quality of life in general and intensity of pain during the 24 hours after ozone therapy.
All nine patients reported an improvement after the first four or five weekly infusions and there was a complete or partial elimination of the use of pain drugs. The patients felt better each time.
Prof Zimran said he would like more studies into this form of therapy, especially a placebo-controlled study before one can make a medical recommendation regarding this form of treatment yet the early experience is encouraging.

"Alfalfa sprouts may be dangerous to your health"*

Dear Chris, is this mere propaganda. I have grown and eaten alfalfa sprouts for many years. Thank you, Iris
"Yes this is true, contrary to what most believe, vegetables, as a rule, carry far more E. Coli and salmonella than do meat and milk products particularly organic raw milk.

Personally, I don't get too paranoid about this as I prefer raw over cooked. External bacteria can be dealt with by washing with peroxide and vinegar sprays as discussed below.
Chris Gupta
-------------------
"You can use vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to disinfect your kitchen counters, produce and even your cutting boards. All you need is three percent hydrogen peroxide, the type you buy at the drug store, vinegar (white or apple cider), and two clean sprayers, like the kind you use to mist plants. Fill each sprayer separately, one with peroxide and the other with vinegar (don't mix them together in one bottle - that makes peracetic acid, which isn't safe and can give you a bad chemical burn). Spritz the item you want to disinfect, first with hydrogen peroxide and then with vinegar, then rinse off under running water. University tests show that this technique killed more potentially lethal bacteria, including Salmonella, Shigella, and even E. coli, than chlorine bleach or any commercially available kitchen cleaner."
