Baker's Yeast/Lactobacteria - Questions

Hi Chris
I have a couple of questions if you have time to answer. I have a friend who was doing the baking yeast for a couple of months, he told me he didn't feel anymore energetic but he noticed he lost some weight, and continued to lose 14 lbs.
Normally the loss of weight is key and energy should increase in due course as that is 14 lbs less that he has to carry around. This sounds like a good news story but something else may also be going on. Losing weight over 2 months is so gradual that energy increase may not be easily perceived...
He was taking two teaspoons 3 times a day. But he went to the Dr. for a check up and his cholesterol was up a little and he told Dr. about the yeast and the Dr. told him to quit taking it - it may be the cause of his cholesterol rise. I really don't see that having any effect.
Yes there can be a connection - any doctor worth his salt should be able to recognize this. As the cholesterol is removed from the artery walls, it can go to into the blood, thus raising the cholesterol. But eventually it should stabilize if not go lower...
For example, the Pauling/Rath regimen will change the lipid and sugar profile as all the stuff is excreted into the blood. You need to use a doctor who knows this method or you will just get canned answers from a run of the mill clinic.
You can check and consult with physicians and health professionals from across the USA who are familiar with the Pauling/Rath lipoprotein(a) discovery.
How long should it take for the cabbage juice to help system out?
That depends on how much cooked food he eats and what medications he is on. Depending, on one's genetic makeup, at least 50% fresh food is a rule of thumb to maintain good health.
Do you know if Kombucha Tea is healthful or not? Also the same about Kefir?
For the answer to the above please read "Nourishing Traditions" as discussed in: Vegetarianism & Milk Consumption
Any diet tips for an obese person who has lost 100 lb a couple of times when younger but now at 47 having a tough time losing?
The key is to reduce carbs. See: Dr. Jan Kwasniewski's diet is not Atkin diet-Update and Dieting May Be the Major Cause of Obesity.
I am not a doctor so check this out with a health practitioner who knows which end it up, before you take my word.
Thanks

Here is more proof why fresh unadulterated foods are so important, given that: "Plant hormone KINETIN delays the onset of many cellular and biochemical characteristics associated with cellular ageing of cultured human cells..." Natural sources of kinetin related cytokinins are: very high levels in coconut water/milk; all germinating seeds and growing tips etc." Of course as the note says below, if kinetin is to be marketed, it will have to...
