Simche has a headache and wants to go and see the doctor. His friend advises against it: "One does not go to the doctor's because of merely a headache!" But Simche is not of his opinion: "You don't understand. The doctor needs to live, too." Simche gets a prescription from the doctor and marches straight to the apothecary's. "Don't be a fool," says his friend, "that headache will go away all by itself!" "Be quiet", says severely Simche, "The apothecary needs to live, too." Simche takes the medicine out from the apothecary's, and pours it to the ditch right away. His friend exclaims, all aghast: "Heavens! that expensive medicine!!" Answers Simche, outraged: "So what?? I need to live, too!"
