Progress on therapy of breast cancer with vitamin Q10 and the regression of metastases.
Lockwood K ; Moesgaard S ; Yamamoto T ; Folkers K

Over 35 years, data and knowledge have internationally evolved from biochemical, biomedical and clinical research on vitamin Q10 (coenzyme Q10; CoQ10) and cancer, which led in 1993 to overt complete regression of the tumors in two cases of breast cancer. Continuing this research, three additional breast cancer patients also underwent a conventional protocol of therapy which included a daily oral dosage of 390 mg of vitamin Q10 (Bio-Quinone of Pharma Nord) during the complete trials over 3-5 years. The numerous metastases in the liver of a 44-year old patient disappeared, and no signs of metastases were found elsewhere. A 49-year-old patient, on a dosage of 390 mg of vitamin Q10, revealed no signs of tumor in the pleural cavity after six months, and her condition was excellent. A 75-year-old patient with carcinoma in one breast, after lumpectomy and 390 mg of CoQ10, showed no cancer in the tumor bed or metastases. Control blood levels of CoQ10 of 0.83-0.97 and of 0.62 micrograms/ml increased to 3.34-3.64 and to 3.77 micrograms/ml, respectively, on therapy with CoQ10 for patients A-MRH and EEL.

Hello,
I have metastized to bone breast cancer which has been held in check for 10 years. Last year it began to spread. I was put on Zomeda infusions and megase, after 9 months, the cancer has spread to different portions of my bones. I am now on a monthly shot of Faslodex. Can I take by mouth 390 mg of CoQ10 to stop the progression? I currently take 60 mg per day. Is there a certain brand I should take?
Thank you!

I was reading some of the articles on CQ10 is this drug effective for Lupus patients.

Posted by: Charlene on October 7, 2004 08:57 PM

Rosemary,

Since CQ10 is non toxic you could try it in large doses say 400mg, divided over the day with meals, and see if it helps.

Charlene,

CQ10 is not a drug it is a nutrient much like a vitamin. For lupus see respones to Rosemary above.

My daughter has a mitochondrial disorder. She takes CoQ 400 Mg per day. We have a terrible time getting the big capsules down her (she is also severly delayed)
I heard that a patch is available... any knowledge of this? my search is leaving me high and dry so far... also any knowledge as to any downside to a patch vs. tabs?

Holly, the best way to take CQ10 is to open the capusule/s and mix in organinc butter at body temprature. It tastes quite good. Am not aware of a patch.

whether the CoQ10 could effect the nerves system especially around the backbone? Since my mom had taken the q10, the anaesthesia of her backbone injury has become better. However, she would have insomnia if she takes five days a week. Is it really related to q10? Or just a coincidence?...i would like to have your oppinions b/c im writing a paper about q10. contact through e-mail will be appreciated! thx

The provision of supplemental CoQ10 (390 mg) to breast cancer patients has been shown to induce complete regression in some cases. [Biochem Biophys Res Comm 199: 1504-08, 1994; 212: 172-77, 1995] Though only a small group study, the provision of an array of antioxidant supplements including coenzyme Q10 to high risk breast cancer patients has been demonstrated to be beneficial in reducing mortality, spread of cancer and quality of life. Can I know of the naturally occuring cereals, vegetables, fruits and milk products that contain Coenzyme "CQ10"

How much quantity (mgs) each 100 gms of the foods contain?

Is the enzyme destroyed in boiling/microwaving/frying of the food?

You all must realize to beat cancers you have to stop eating cooked foods and animals raw eggs is the only animal product i recomend it is high in coenzyme q10

I think most people who post here have gotten sick because of all the medicine they are on. It would be best to start researching in order to eliminate as much as possible and replace it with very nutritious foods. Many people have no idea what nutritious foods are. They are nothing that contains anything you have not put in there yourself. So, start cooking. Eliminate all diary and meat. Eat whole grains, legumes, seeds, nuts, fruit, vegetables and drink only spring, or reverse osmosis water. You have to be in charge of your own health. You can not give that responsibility to anyone else. They do not work in your best interest. Although they believe they do, they ultimately are bound by big pharmaceutical codes. Research Codex Aliminarious and you will see what powerful forces are behind out health "care". Good luck to everyone! Oh and as for any supplements, they are unnecessary if you spend your money instead on on healthy organic foods.

My husband takes Lipitor. I have a large family history of cancer. Would you recommend we take cq10 as a precaution and if so what mg? I am 5'4 135lbs and he is 5'11 170 lbs.

Posted by: Pam S on May 27, 2009 08:52 PM

Actually some times supplementation is necessary to get the required amount. Organic food is good but only if you can absorb it. If you are really sick and need hugh doses e.g. vitamin c, e, q10 no way you can eat extremely large quantity of food to get the nutrient.
