Dear Kallie & List:
Part of the whole deal with iodine is that it helps the body convert toxic estrogens into the less toxic form of estriol (the idea is to "burn" it out). Any type of hormone based cancer (prostate, breast, uterine, endometrial, etc.) has toxic estrogens as the common denominator. DIM is also an excellent compound for the deactivation / blockage of toxic estrogens, as is bio identical progesterone in physiological doses. Iodine from brown seaweed (bladderwrack) we've used for many years in mexico since it is relatively inexpensive. For aggressive therapy for instance on uterine fibroid tumors, some doctors will paint on a very concentrated form called SSKI (more concentrated than even Lugols solution which also works). It helps reduce the tumors by converting the toxic estrogenic factor into less toxic forms and helps shut down replication speed.
We use a combination of the ozone Far Infrared dome sauna therapies to drive cores up to 104?F 3-4 times a week, hormone balancing, especially with the cortisol issues from stress, dietary changes, supplements which change the pH environment (our new MSS-02 is much better than Cesium and it doesn't have any of the side effects...), insulin re sensitization and no and low grain diet (Dr.Mercola), etc. The combination program works faster than some of the older things we used to do...
You should know too that there is a down side risk to all of this and it should not be undertaken at home without the guidance of someone who knows the signs of iodine toxicity since it can cause goiter (enlarged thyroid) and thyroid toxicities from too much iodine...all things with caution and moderation is my motto...
