As you may know, the "Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2003," the Durbin bill (S.722) poses a serious threat to the supplement industry and health freedom as a whole by affording the FDA additional authority to regulate supplements like prescription drugs... essentially rolling back DSHEA! (Comments from Emord & Associates are attached.)
AAHF is doing whatever necessary to defeat this bill, but we need your help to spread the word. Combined and immediate action would be WIN-WIN for all involved.
I have attached a three-page letter that you could distribute to your email lists, your customer database, etc. to educate people about the severity of this bill and it's direct impact on their health freedom. The goal right now is to educate people and generate as many letters to Senators as possible. The letters are the fuel we need to arm our lobbyist with since the Senators and their staff want to know how their constituents are reacting to this bill.

The additional funds will be used immediately to build effective coalitions and support among allied organizations; attend related hearings, committee and subcommittee meetings on Capitol Hill; meet with and educate legislative assistants and Senators; and expand our grassroots lobbying campaign.
