The Interview Game Part II: What Do You See Ahead Robin?
Although health is the main focus on this site, there are other areas of interest, which need consideration if we are to make progress towards a better future. These problem areas in our current social set-up need to be understood and analyzed. Solutions are needed before we can make real progress towards a peaceful future where we all can find our calling and live lives filled with joy and achievement.
In September last year, my good friendRobin Good sent me several questions to answer as part of what he called the "Interview Game". Robin asked me how I saw that future for our society. I kept my part of the deal, which was to answer Robin's questions (to be found here) and in turn I got to ask several questions that Robin would answer.
However Robin's answers never did arrive and I did not hear any more on this - until the other day that is, when Robin asked me to re-send those questions. What was on my mind at the time was the role of education and various ways in which the internet and new technologies would influence our future.
The questions I asked were:
1. Can you describe to us what you would consider an end product, or outcome, of education?
2. How would schools and universities have to change to achieve such a product?
3. Do you think that evolving means of communication will give rise to new art forms - if so, could you describe what you see coming?
4. Traditional media are losing ground to the internet. What changes would the media giants have to make to re-capture our attention?
5. What means are available to us to salvage the contents of the internet (or as much of it as possible) in case of some catastrophic occurrence like general and prolonged blackouts?
6. If you were to propose a solution to the problem of pirated artistic content, how do you think the needs of artists to be rewarded could be reconciled with the desire of people to experience the art at reasonable prices?
7. Technically, there would be no problem to institute software that could run micropayments through the banking system. Do you think that there are other barriers that keep us from having such a useful tool?
Robin's answers are now on his site.
Robin Good is a scout for new and affordable communication technologies that are accessible to all of us. He is also a good friend of mine and we have done some work together to identify the areas of change that need to be given attention if we are to progress towards a better society for all of us.
These areas form the core mission of the Communication Agents Initiative, a brainchild of Robin Good which has spawned three sites so far:
Share the Wealth - Chris Gupta's health site
Il Grillo Parlante - Ivan Ingrilli's site in Italian
and of course this site's modest contribution to the effort - Health Supreme.
Not to forget a fourth site - Robin Good's Sharewood Tidings.
