Perchlorate: More Chemical Contaminants In Food (Thyroid)
"The Pentagon and defense contractors, who are responsible for much of the perchlorate in drinking water supplies, have lobbied hard against federal standards, arguing that perchlorate posed no threat to healthy adults," said Renee Sharp, an EWG analyst who has studied the chemical since 2000. "This new study shows that even very small levels of perchlorate in water or food can have a marked effect on thyroid levels in women. We can't ignore this serious public health issue any longer."

As if the forced Fluoride contaminant wasn't bad enough for our Thyroids here is more bad news now from chlorides
Inability to obtain nutrients from our foods is further exasperated with the escalation of toxins in our food were soon, due to soil depletion and genetic modification the pesticides and other toxins may actually surpass mineral content, not to mention the direct assault form the increasing chemicals in our environment. Further many foods due to long storage and transportation times, not to mention processing, are already depleted of Vitamins particularly C in some cases up to 70%! This is a recipe whereby probably for the first time parents will easily out live their children!

---------------------"Lettuce grown in the fall and winter months in the southwestern United States contains very high amounts of perchlorate. Up to 70% of the nation's fall and winter lettuce supply is irrigated with perchlorate-contaminated water from the lower Colorado River.
Over 130 samples of commercial lettuce were tested for perchlorate. This included head lettuce as well as adult and baby greens grown both organically and conventionally. Significant amounts of perchlorate were found in 83% of the lettuce samples tested. There was virtually no difference between organically or conventionally grown lettuce. It is estimated that by eating lettuce during the winter months, 1.6 million American women of childbearing age are exposed to more perchlorate than the EPA's recommended safe dose. (39)
Perchlorate has also been found in dairy and human milk. Forty seven dairy milk samples From 1 1 states were examined for perchlorate. Significant amohts of perchlorate were found in 98% of the samples (46/47). Thirty six human milk samples fiom 18 states were examined for perchlorate. All of the human milk samples -100%- were found to contain measurable amounts of perchlorate. The mean perchlorate level of human milk was 500% higher than dairy milk. in fact, there was an inverse correlation of perchlorate and iodide in breast milk; the higher the perchlorate level, the lower the iodide level. Breast milk is the only source of iodide in a breast-fed infant. The high perchlorate levels found in this study prompted the authors to conclude, "Recommended iodine intake by pregnant and lactating women may need to be revised upward."40
As mentioned in Chapter 2, iodine levels have fallen over 50% in the United States over the last 30 years. There is no doubt that part of this decline can be attributed to increasing exposure to toxic goitrogens such as perchlorate.

Here is a commentary on the recent (Jan, 25th, 2011) Public Participation Meeting (PPM) on Fluoride in the City of London, Ontario. The meeting started with a strong pro fluoride stance form the City engineer. His lack of knowledge on chemistry of the toxic wastes used to fluoridate water could embarrass even a high school student never mind his own profession. He blatantly violated his "duty to public welfare" as... [read more]

Here is a bit of history that illustrates why they feed us hydrofluorosilcic acid in our water. Show this to those who ask why should the authorities slow poison us! "One of the main reasons for processing the raw phosphate rock for agricultural purposes is because of the fluoride content – mainly in the form of fluorosilicates/silicon tetrafluoride.
