PES Network - a group focused on promoting clean-energy technologies, is providing a specialized site "Project Assimilate" to match evacuees of the hurricane that hit the New Orleans with people willing to take such persons into their home. PES focuses on promoting clean-energy technologies, reporting on and encouraging research and development in areas that will push the envelope toward clean, green, affordable, reliable energy solutions. They are launching this assimilation project as their way of helping out.

Most official relief organizations are focussed on providing temporary shelter. PES Network Inc.'s Sterling D. Allan says: "There is a need, that no one, as far as I can determine, is filling in an organized way right now."
