Medical Underground: Inclined Bed Therapy

There seem to be numerous benefits to just changing your position of sleep from the usual horizontal to where your head and upper part of body is elevated over the lower part. Apparently gravity "makes the juices flow" much better during the night, and the body is able to regenerate and cleanse while you rest.

inclined.jpg

I have reported about sleeping in a slightly inclined position before. The change in sleeping habit has been pioneered by British scientist Andrew Fletcher, who also found out that osmosis is not what makes the sap of trees rise to heights that are unachievable by any vacuum pump. His experiment to prove this is described in my earlier article.

Now there seems to be renewed buzz about this cheap and rather revolutionary method of improving our health, and there are even companies that make bed-raising blocks of wood for those who don't have the do-it-yourself inspiration. Here is a recent post I found on the Alternative Medicine Forum (Yahoo group) with much additional information and several links to the sleep-underground:

Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) - Good News For You!

I have started using this 'treatment/therapy'. I am only at 2 & 1/2 inches however; decided that I don't need any initial pain and am being cautious, though plan on going to a 5 degree incline [which on my bed will be about 6 & 1/2 inches or so] as advised by Andrew Fletcher who 'invented' this therapy. Anyways; good so far. Several people in Electroherbalism have been using this for awhile and I know of 3 people in MCS-Canada who have started it & are
pleased so far.

Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) - Good News For You!

This could save your life, remove pain and add many many years of quality and creativity to your life. If you have been looking for the fountain of youth, you may have found it, and guess what, it is free!

Benefits To You ...

--- Teenager reports all pimples went in two weeks (verified).

--- MS, Parkinson's, Hashimoto's and Arthritis improvements.

--- Huge detox to the body, this has been verified via client response to lymphatic massage (clients on IBT no-longer display symptoms of toxin flush) when they are sleeping on an incline.

--- Sleep right through the night. Breathing problems eliminated, sleep apnea, snoring, cot deaths resolved. This is absolutely amazing and will save the lives of thousands of people.

--- Provides Fascia Trauma Unwinding - Check the Myofascial Release menu. Absolutely incredible how this function of Inclined Bed Therapy operates. If you want to feel young, pain free, energized and in top health, give this a go.

--- Bones actually grow longer, you will grow taller.

--- Balances the pelvic girdle and addresses Scoliosis/Kyphosis/Lordosis and Dowager's hump problems.

--- Never be cold again in Winter, IBT keeps the body metabolism ticking along. You will get hotter in Summer, so take off the extra covers.

--- Clients with high blood pressure have seen their blood pressure normalize after a few months. Give it a go !

--- Nightly dreams become lucid (may be a product of lower toxins in the body and elevated oxygen levels).

--- Your heart wont work as hard, now this is going to extend life 10, may be 20 years, may be more ? (Just do it)

--- Oedema problems resolved. Yep, medical science got it wrong telling you to raise your feet, raise from your head and be startled by the results.

--- The most common report is that sleeping on an incline feels more natural than sleeping flat. People after sleeping inclined for a few months are never happy going back to sleeping horizontal. This is very addictive, you'll actually enjoy going to bed.

--- I have monitored several clients who used to spend up to $40 per month on general headache and pain killing drugs. They now have extra savings as they no-longer suffer head-aches or pain. Ooops! Mr Pharmaceutical won't like this. This may very well affect Pharmaceutical profits. Spread the word, because no one else will.

--- A message to smokers! For the first few weeks, may be a month, you will start coughing when you get out of bed in the morning, and this may pass after half an hour or so. This is IBT repairing your lungs. The increased humidity in your lungs and respiration improvements will provide an opportunity for your body to help repair damage done from smoking. IBT will also make it easier to kick the habit and for you to enter the wellness zone.

--- The best part is, it is free. Just a few blocks of wood under your bed. Always start out at 3 or 4 inches, then work up to 6 to 8 inches incline.

As a therapist, I am staggered at the benefits provided.

Ken

Must Read Information ...

Inclined Bed Therapy

"The Importance of Gravity to our Health and Wellbeing, and its Relation to Rest & Sleep. by Andrew K. Fletcher"

which is included in the eRegimens "Inclined Bed Therapy" article linked above explains why the heart does not have to work as hard as when in a horizontal position.

Brian

--------------------------------------------------------

Side Effects Reported

--- Initial aches in muscles as they elongate and reset (last 1 to 8 days)

--- Initial headaches - this is a result of Fascial Release and fast detox for such an extended period. The fascia is unwinding 8 hours, as you sleep, all systems in the body will respond and normalize. (lasts 5 to 10 days).

--- Emotional trauma releases from 3 weeks to 4 weeks and is ongoing depending on incline. This provides good health improvements. A product of fascia trauma exiting the body, permanently, this one aspect is worth the effort of this therapy and staying with it for a least 6 weeks to see how you go.

--- Body slip. Yep, you will slip down your bed 5 to 12 inches over the nights sleep and wake up with your feet hanging over the edge. (I've gotten used to it ;-)

Online Theory with Gif animation & graphs
Andrew developed a new theory how trees manage to defy a law of physics by lifting fluid up to 375 ft high. The best of our pumps cannot lift a column of water higher than 33 ft. Andrew's theory led him on to postulate that there may be spin-offs for human health and better sleep. Scroll down & on the left side is an animated illustration of how the Brixham Cliff experiment and how it works. There are graphs etc on the next page too.

Revisited - "The Importance of Gravity to our Health and Wellbeing, and its
Relation to Rest & Sleep"

Scroll down. The inclined bed was first used in the ancient Egypt's third dynasty. When the tombs were opened, they discovered that the beds where in fact inclined. It turns out, that they are raised by exactly 15 cm's at the head end! How did they know, and why did so many people fail to realize the significance of their find? Case histories suggest that many medical conditions, irrespective of their severity, will positively respond when horizontal bedrest is avoided. I implore you to read again the original publication, in Newsletter No.10, if only to begin to understand why a baby should never be placed on a flat bed.

Dispelling the Night-Time Frequent Urination

An additional effect of gravity on the body in the head up tilt position is the production of more heat during the night and this increases evaporation from the respiratory tract and skin, therefore reducing the amount of urine we produce and increasing the density of the urine produced

Life And Gravity: Sleeping In A Horizontal Position May Be Bad For You
Just for starters - Fletcher says circulation while sleeping is better if the bed is in a slightly inclined position. If indeed gravity does have something to do with optimal function of "vertical" organisms, from blades of grass to trees and indeed to humans, then ... There does seem to be a problem with people dying in their sleep, but scientists are not quite sure what it may be connected with... The Importance of Gravity to our Health and Wellbeing; and its Relation to Rest and Sleep
There are several effects of using this therapy that have not been expressed anywhere else. As well as media headlines, and more.
Scistudypart1

Cliff experiment pulls plug on 300 year old law of physics
Ideas man Andrew K Fletcher claims he has disproved a fundamental law of physics dating back to the 17th century. And impressed by the historic experiment at Overgang cliff, Brixham, to raise water 78 feet without the support of any artificial aids, John Hunt, Senior forestry Officer for Devon and Somerset who witnessed the experiment's success last Friday said: 'It was quite impressive. The rule that water will only rise 32 feet under atmospheric pressure when in a column was effectively disproved."

EVERYTHING YOU WERE TAUGHT ABOUT OSMOSIS IS WRONG
By Professor H.T. Hammel. Osmosis is the reason that a fresh water fish placed in the ocean desiccates and dies. Osmosis is the reason that blisters form on fiberglass boat hulls. Osmosis is how waste products of metabolism enter and leave the blood stream. Osmosis determines how you, me and every living thing live and die. One would think that a civilization that spends billions of dollars every year on medical research would understand something as basic as osmosis. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Walking after using the Inclined Bed Therapy
Here is an exciting demonstration of Andrew Fletcher's theory. For those who don't have a high speed Internet connection, I have extracted the 3.37 minute audio from the following video and attached a very short (700k) Mp3 file here. The therapy entails raising the head end of the bed by 6 to 8 inches! Unfortunately, the medical Mafia will have nothing to do with it as there is no profit hence no motive. See John Cann Walking on Carlton Television News, after almost 11 years of paralysis below his injury site. He had spinal cord injury.

It takes about four to five weeks for it to kick in, but your son will notice changes in urine, body temperature, and energy levels within the first four weeks. There may only be minor changes at first, but should be obvious. Also might get a reduction in spasm and pain fairly early.

Suggestion for a research project:

Andrew Fletcher suggests that some of you might want to do an experiment.

If you suffer from circulation problems such as varicose veins, oedema, gangrene, thrombosis, phlebitis and leg ulcer, try Inclined Bed Therapy to see if you can bring about an improvement.

Here are the steps:

1) contact Andrew Fletcher to tell him you are ready to do the experiment.

2) document (photographically) the problem you are having, before commencing to sleep at an incline.

3) after an agreed time span, document any progress and send the pics to Andrew Fletcher. If you would like to share with other readers of this site, send the before and after pictures and a description of what you did and what improvements you may have had to me by email. I will be happy to post them as a comment to this article.

A Study to Show that Varicose Veins and Oedema will respond Favourably to Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) and do not Require Surgery.

We have already got the first result in after only 7 days of Inclined Bed Therapy. Be sure to check out Alun's Photographs on The Naked Scientists Forum.

We are looking for 50 or more people with Varicose veins who have not yet had surgery to test this simple Free Therapy and theory.

Why do varicose veins shrink after only 4 weeks of avoiding a flat bed by sleeping on an inclined mattress affording a level but tilted surface with the head end 6 inches or fifteen cm's higher than the foot end?

How does physiology Literature account for this interesting observation?

You might be interested to learn that the causes of varicose veins are not understood and therefore the chance of anyone providing an answer to my question is pretty remote.

I have patented a method of achieving inclined sleep and can be found if you google "MediWedge". The benefits of this sleep system are:

1) If you use blocks to raise the head of your bed you are voiding the manufacturers 20-year warranty.
2) You can sleep on the mattress surface that you selected for your comfort level.
3) You can sleep on your back, side or stomach! The wedge is between the mattress and the foundation, supporting the whole mattress.
4) You can continue to use the pillows that you are comfortable with.
5) The warranty is for three years, but the product is designed to last for 10 years.

Mr Andrew Fletcher

I am impressed with your teory and would like to know what will be the health improvements using the inclined Bed Therapy and your recomendations in these two cases:

1. I live with a doctor named Barbara Biselli , diagnosed one year ago with Multiple Sclerosis. Barbara has fatigue and ataxia due to some lesions in cerebellar peduncles. She's taking vitamin D and many others natural remedies.
2. Another friend, Paulo Fernando A. C., was shot in his spinal cord causing a injury that led him to a wheelchair 30 years ago .

I appreciate any possible help.

Hello Mr. Andrew, I seen your article about IBT very informative. I set up my bed and started sleeping like this. In addition to this I also read that sleeping on floor is also good too.So now on this inclined bed can I also put wooden sheet over matteress and under my cotton bed sheet to make it more harder then matresses?. Please reply me, Thank you very much, Manzoor
