Of course, GMO sugar, like other GMO “foods,” doesn’t need to be labeled as such (because nobody in their right mind would buy it if it were). Half the refined sugar in the U.S. is from beets – and insiders say the industry has quickly converted to the GMO Frankenfood beets, estimating up to 95% of farmers are now using them. Beet sugar is often mixed with cane sugar, meaning that unless a product lists the ingredient as cane sugar or organic cane sugar then it now likely contains GMO mutant beet-derived sugar.

To see how junk food affects the brain’s natural reward system — the network of nerve cells that release feel-good chemicals — Johnson started at the grocery store. He loaded up on typical Western fare, including Ho Hos, sausage, pound cake, bacon and cheesecake. Video: Vitamin D and Cancer Prevention
In a new study, researchers at the Moores Cancer Center and Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, UC San Diego used a complex computer prediction model to determine that intake of vitamin D3 and calcium would prevent 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 new cases of colorectal cancer annually in the US and Canada. The researchers model also predicted that 75% of deaths from these cancers could be prevented with adequate intake of vitamin D3 and calcium. Dr. Cedric Garland, UCSD School of Medicine, lead researcher on the study discusses the implications of this finding and the proposed actions.
Curry spice 'kills cancer cells'
The chemical - curcumin - has long been thought to have healing powers and is already being tested as a treatment for arthritis and even dementia.Now tests by a team at the Cork Cancer Research Centre show it can destroy gullet cancer cells in the lab.

Psychotropic drugs misused at nursing homes
Some Illinois nursing homes are misusing psychotropic drugs on residents, leading them to experience dangerous side effects and fatal falls, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.The newspaper said that it found 1,200 violations involving use of the drugs since 2001, affecting nearly 3,000 nursing home residents.
Gardasil Researcher Drops A Bombshell
Dr. Diane Harper, lead researcher in the development of two human papilloma virus vaccines, Gardasil and Cervarix, said the controversial drugs will do little to reduce cervical cancer rates and, even though they’re being recommended for girls as young as nine, there have been no efficacy trials in children under the age of 15.Dr. Harper, director of the Gynecologic Cancer Prevention Research Group at the University of Missouri, made these remarks during an address at the 4th International Public Conference on Vaccination which took place in Reston, Virginia on Oct. 2-4.

The news that a fourth person has died after taking the "swine flu" jab in Sweden is focussing attention on the failure of the Swedish Medical Products Agency (MPA) to halt the "swine flu" programme even as reports of serious side effects flood in.The Swedish drug regulator has allowed the "swine flu" jab campaign to be launched even though there is no safety or efficacy data on the vaccine. GlaxoSmithKline's Pandemrix with mercury and squalene has been given approval under new and lax European Union regulations formulated by the European Medicines Agency, (EMEA) for a "pandemic emergency" that do not require safety or efficacy data.
The EMEA derives three-quarters of its funding from pharmaceutical companies.
